Rowan grew up kayaking, canoeing and fishing in Deep Cove and Indian Arm. He has worked at "The Kayak Shop" since 1996. At the age of 19 he completed the Canadian Outdoor Leadership Training (COLT) program. COLT was one of the best experiences of his life and led him into a career in the outdoor industry. Rowan believes that kayaking is one of the best ways to experience the ocean environment. Whether it's paddling in shallow water checking out marine life, or surf kayaking in Tofino, he truly feels at home in a boat. For Rowan, one of the most enjoyable things is teaching, he works very hard to ensure that his students have the best possible experience they can. Lorraine has worked at Deep Cove Kayak School for almost a decade. She has a deep passion for paddling and for the ocean. Lorraine loves group and solo trips and has spent time paddling on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, The Gulf Islands and most recently a solo trip from Johnstone Strait through to Lund. Lorraine loves teaching and sharing her enthusiasm for kayaking. She also has a deep passion for ocean life and can often been found free diving with a mask and fins deep beneath the ocean.

Marty is the one with the discernible French-Canadian accent, often heard laughing and giggling. His background is in sea kayaking and white water kayaking in Eastern Canada. Formerly a self-proclaimed 'hardcore solo kayakist' doing trips in the Great Lakes, Florida, the Atlantic Ocean and Labrador; Marty is now in BC seeking out big water like Skookumchuck Narrows and the West Coast of Vancouver Island to experience the new generation of paddling.

Gaz has been at Deep Cove Canoe and Kayak Centre for four years after moving from the U.K in 2006. Gaz loves all varieties of paddling, whether it's teaching, guiding, playing and rolling or going for long workout paddles in Indian Arm. Away from kayaking Gaz is an outdoor enthusiast and can usually be found trail running, hiking, skiing or cycling anywhere on the North Shore.

Watching the sunlight shimmering across the rippling water; paddling silently past the seals. This is what has kept Cindy paddling for the past 25 years. Cindy has combined her passion for paddling with her passion for teaching which makes her a great fit as an instructor here at Deep Cove. Cindy loves to share her passion for kayaking with all levels of kayakers through lessons and tours.

Roscoe started kayaking when he was 17 and hasn't stopped since. Throughout his kayaking career Roscoe has served on the Executive Board of the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC, worked for many years as a guide on BC's West Coast and has more recently taken to instructing.
Roscoe has renewed his stoke for kayaking through introducing beginners into the sport and working on his goal of becoming the World's Oldest Kayak Instructor.

David has always enjoyed being around the water and paddling and kayaking was a great fit. He has paddled in a variety of places throughout North America; however, he most enjoys what British Columbia has to offer. Between work and play David has explored the Johnstone Strait, Broughton Archipelago, Desolation Sound, Clayquot Sound, the Broken Group and many other places. However, in addition to his love for touring, he has two other passions in kayaking. The first is teaching others to paddle and the second is personal trips surfing in Tofino and current paddling on Quadra Island.

Nick is back for his second season as an instructor with Deep Cove Kayak School. Nick has been working in the outdoor industry for almost a decade working on the mountains in winter and the ocean in the summer. Surfing as a child on Vancouver Island sparked his interest with Mother Nature and the ocean. As a teen he picked up interests in first aid, ski touring, kayaking and continued surfing. In the past few years Nick has been busy gaining new skills and certifications and hopes to continue learning through courses, ski mountaineering trips, surf trips and kayak trips.

Jill has been sea kayaking for 7 years and has been instructing for the past 3 seasons. She loves to work and play outside and can either be founding riding a horse or riding a wave in her kayak. Jill loves teaching beginners to kayak and seeing their excitement has they learn new skills. She loves to spend weekends and holidays paddling with family and friends visiting new paddling destinations throughout BC. When she is not kayaking or riding her horse she is camping with girl guides or scouts.

Kate grew up in Deep Cove and spent her youth exploring the waters of Indian Arm. She is a proud local and loves to share her enthusiasm for the area with visitors from all around. Kate has been working on the water in Deep Cove for almost 10 years either with the kayak shop or with the Deep Cove Rowing Club. She recently completed her degree in Natural Resource Conservation which has further developed or love for the natural environment.

Jayne has been paddling in one form or another for many years, but 7 years ago she got into a kayak for the first time and never looked back. Jayne loves the water and has been in it and around it all of her life, teaching and training everything from life guarding to surf rescue to rowing, but there is nothing that gets her stoked like teaching and watching people discover the unbelievable freedom they can find in a kayak.
Jayne has a particular love for the backcountry and getting to the remote places only a kayak can take you. There's nothing like waking up to the mountains reflected on perfectly still water and enjoying that cup of coffee watching the herons find their breakfast.
Kayaking is a true passion for me and I love to ignite that passion in others.

Megan grew up paddling her family's beat-up kayak in New Zealand. Following her move to Canada, she worked in marine conservation on the incredible coast of British Columbia, and her passion for the marine environment brought her to kayak guiding. This is her second season as a kayak guide and instructor.

Jack joined Deep Cove Canoe and Kayak Centre on 2009 as a member of the beach crew and quickly got sick with the kayaking bug. After spending the winter making use of his law degree at home in Scotland, Jack made the quick decision to return to Canada and become a kayak instructor. Jack's goals for the summer are to take some paddling trips on the West Coast of Vancouver Island and continue visiting Skookumchuck to surf.

Erin is relatively new to the kayaking world, but not to the instructing world. She has coached youth in both field hockey and soccer and is eager to begin her first season instructing at Deep Cove. Erin gets her stoke for kayaking from the marine environment and the people in the kayaking world. Erin is excited to spend the summer teaching and paddling and still can't believe that she gets paid to do it!

Although this is Lina's first summer working for Deep Cove, she has been a regular Tuesday Night Racer for several years. Her favorite time to paddle in the cove is throughout the winter, when there are few people out on the water, the mountains are snowcapped and the air is crisp. Lina loves to race. She has competed internationally as an adventure racer and has paddled in waters surrounding the Queen Charlotte Islands and as far south as the waters near the Southern tip of Chile.
Lina spends most of her time exploring the outdoors and takes great pleasure in inspiring and motivating others to enjoy the outdoors. She is finishing her one year teaching degree at SFU and is looking forward to working with high school students. She is excited to be a part of the Deep Cove Canoe and Kayak team.
