Attention 2010 Season Pass Holders

Again in 2010, aall season pass holders will need to refresh their capsize recovery skills. Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak values the safety of all of our paddlers and we feel practicing the critical skill of capsize recovery is needed each season if not more often. We are offering a few different ways to accomplish this.

1. Take or retake a regularly scheduled Rec 4 - Solo Paddling course held at Deep Cove. Recommended for paddlers who have never taken a capsize course. $80 Thursdays usually 6:00-9:00pm & Sundays 1:00-4:00. April to October
2. Spend one hour refreshing you capsize recovery skills in Deep Cove alongside one of our instructors with our Recovery Refresher course. Recommended for paddlers who have taken a capsize course before, but would like to refresh their technique. $20 Saturday, April 17, 24, May 1, 15, 29, June 12, July 10, 10:00-11:00am.
3. Contact Deep Cove Canoe and Kayak Rentals to set up a time to demonstrate your capsize recovery skills in front of the paddling centre. This can be done in 10 minutes and is recommended only for those paddlers competent in their solo recovery skills. $0
4. Enroll in our Plotting the Course to Skookumchuck which is a multi-day course offering the fundamental skills and knowledge needed for dealing with and enjoying currents, tidal races and over falls. This course was designed for those with some fundamental paddling skills and who are looking for new and exciting ways to enjoy the ocean. Capsize situations are part of the learning process. Participants in this course will greatly increase their ability to control their kayak in rougher water. $844 including Season Pass.

Terms and Conditions of Season Pass:

• Valid for the following times:
• Valid upon completing a solo rescue refresher or course including capsize recovery
• 7 days per week before May 1
• May - August 31, Monday - Friday (except public holidays)
• 7 days per week after Labour Day weekend
• Buy before December 22 and save $30
• Valid from April 1 to October 31 weather and space permitting

Valid for 3 hour rental of:

• single kayak: $349
• double kayak: $449

Discounts:

• 10% discount on overnight rentals
• 10% discount on all tours and lessons
• 10% discount for friends on weekday rentals
• 10% discount for pass holder on weekend rentals
• $10 for Deep Cove T-Shirt

Upgrades:

• Upgrade to a double kayak for single kayak pass holder - $7.00/hr
• Day rental upgrade - $10.00

Double Kayak Pass Restrictions:

• Pass privileges are for passholder only
• Only one person is the passholder, i.e., a couple cannot buy a pass and each use the same pass at different times with different people.

All regular Reservation and Cancellation policies apply to passholder.
